Biography
After growing up in Memphis, Dr. Laura Engbretson returned in 2007 following her residency at Florida State University’s OB/GYN Residency Program. For several years, her practice focused on underserved neighborhoods in the Memphis areas while working at Christ Community Medical Services and The Morning Center. She opened the Engbretson Center for Women in 2013 but continues to serve through medical mission trips and the Church of Health Center.
She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and received her medical degree from the University of Alabama in 2003. She was the recipient of the Louis C. Henry Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award and is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. She is married to Dr. John Engbretson, a Family Medicine physician with St. Francis Medical Partners as well as a mother to three energetic boys. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and traveling and is a member of the cello section in the Germantown Symphony.
